It Rained. I'm Poor. But Not Alone.
H,HG played its first west coast show on Sunday, at the first annual East Bay Mini Maker Faire in Oakland. Complete with brand new Wagemann (now worse for wear from the rain). It was pouring. It was 10:30 in the morning. It was an experience.
In other news, this project will soon be a band again. And work on the album WILL commence. I love you, goodbye.

i have started a new blog that will exclusively follow the progress of the production of the next hungry, hungry ghost album, whose tentative name is Soar, Winner!
its purpose is to expose the entire process to fresh air and possible input from the outside world (i.e. you and yours), so as to create something breathing and non-suffocated.

It's so hard to wake up sometimes. For years I have found myself on "very important missions" right as I probably should be waking up. In my school years once I even yelled at my mother as she was trying to wake me up for what was likely the fourth or fifth time, "I can't, I'm on a mission!"
This morning, I was practicing a non-existant Cat Stevens song in front of a mirror, naked except for a headband. And I was certain that I could not wake up into my actual life until I got that song down.
Maybe it's nervousness.
Come out and see for yourselves, I'm playing another HUNGRY, HUNGRY GHOST PLAYS ALONG WITH SELF-KARAOKE show tonight in Manhattan at The Delancey (168 Delancey St., between Clinton & Attorney).
It is part of some bittersweet irony-themed night called Laid-Off Mondays and apparently if you can prove that you got laid off, you get one free shot of tequila at midnight.. But I am playing at 8 p.m. So.. maybe have a shot before you come.
Probably talking to myself,

So. Here I am again, frenziedly playing here and there to no one. Working my langsam way up a ladder whose bars are invisible and which undeniably stands upon two levels, encroaching dangerously upon the absolute zero point of must-fall. Is anyone out there? I think I hate the internet. No, I love it...No, I hate it.. No, wait..
The show last week really sent my week into a bitter spiral toward my third sickness within 35 days. A depressing room of relics, empty but for the employers and employees and one of two of the other people who also played. A live webcam, but a terrible feeling of failure. I thank my brother and the sound guy and the one clapping guy on the barstool. I thank you. To top it all off, I accidentally decapitated my newest bandmate, the sweet Else Pappe...
Perhaps it's just the winter doldrums creeping into my skin, but it's starting to make the Germany shows in front of 15-20 people seem like stadium affairs. . . Here I am again!
Aye, but I've chosen it and I will do it. There are things on the horizons, new releases and the such. But as the base ideas for these have been changing rapidly and occasionally, I utter not a word. Except that there is a new song (likely not from an upcoming release) available on our myspace page.
O sweet Earth - usher in the Spring, I beg it of you and with it the conquering feeling of a warm day's work.

We apologize to anyone who knew about it at all and even more so to anyone who planned on going.

Germany Tour 2008
I was waiting for, perhaps some more dates to arise, but it looks like our first tour of Germany will be a mini one. And we might not have a drummer. But, in any case, do come out and cheer us on if you find yourself in one of the cities. We were aided with eye cocaine from our dear Elizabeth Sargent.

We on the Radio!
Tomorrow (Sunday, 9. December), we will be playing a very special three-song live set on Fritz Radio RBB here in Berlin and Brandenburg.
GMT+1: 18:00-20:00. EST: 12:00-14:00.
If you are in the area, the radio frequence is 102,6.
If you are not, then you should be able to hear the live stream from this link.
Then two days later, we'll be trudging our way to Hamburg to play aboard the MS Stubnitz, which we hear is some sort of insane musical party cruiser. That shall yet be seen, comrades. Anyway, if yr in Hambürsch, then come give a hoot. And perhaps a holler.

4. Golden Boy 5. Sleeping English 6. Blind 7. Escape to Witch Mtn.
8. Bonhauser Allee (Don't Know the Words) 9. Exploder

The album was recorded in Moabit between June 2006 and April 2007 and was mastered by Tom Müller in May of 2007. The album artwork (which is beautifully extended in actual format) was made by the gracious Elizabeth Sargent.
